Namaa

Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 July 2026

Namaa helps you grow a garden by logging your five daily prayers. It is built so your spiritual life stays yours. This policy explains, in plain words, what data the app handles, what leaves your phone and why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

The Namaa application and the site namaa.zavyn.app are published by the publisher named in our legal notice, who is the data controller. For any privacy question or request, contact namaa-support@zavyn.app.

Namaa has no user accounts and no login. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

What stays on your phone

Your prayer journal, your name, your goals, your pauses and your settings are stored on this device, in the app's local storage. The journal itself and your name never leave it: we run no server that holds them and we cannot see them. Deleting the app erases it all. Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include this data, following your system settings. See below for the anonymous statistics the app does send.

What leaves your phone, and why

To compute prayer times, your location coordinates are sent to the aladhan.com prayer-times service. When you search for a city, the text you type is sent to the Open-Meteo geocoding service, and your device's Apple or Google geocoder may be used to name your position. All of this travels over HTTPS, the app attaches no name or identifier to it, and it is used only to give you accurate prayer times. These providers process the request as independent services under their own privacy policies.

Anonymous usage analytics (always on)

To understand how Namaa is used and to fix crashes, the app always sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the European Union: which screens are opened, how you interact with the app, which settings you change, plus crash and error reports. These events never contain the content of your journal, your name, or your GPS location. They carry a random device identifier, not your identity. Your device's IP address is discarded and not stored; PostHog may still resolve an approximate location (country, region and city) to run analytics, but this is coarse, is not used to identify you or to track you across apps, and is hosted in the EU like the rest of our analytics.

Share more (optional, off by default)

Namaa is young and needs feedback to improve. You can opt in — once during onboarding, and at any time in Settings — to share your city and the app's language, and to let this device's sessions link together under one profile, so we can follow how Namaa is used over time and where. Never your name, never the content of your journal, never your GPS location. The identifier used contains no personal data. This is off by default and you can turn it off at any time; doing so drops the link, deletes the attached city and language, and resets the identifier.

How long we keep data

Data stored on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Anonymous analytics events held by PostHog are kept according to that project's retention setting — currently up to seven years — and then removed.

Your rights and choices

Because almost everything lives on your device, you stay in control. You can edit or delete your entries in the app, uninstalling the app erases all local data, and turning off the statistics toggle in Settings stops the optional link and resets your identifier. The always-on anonymous usage statistics stay on so the app can keep working reliably.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to or port your personal data. To exercise them, or to ask any question, write to namaa-support@zavyn.app.

Children

Namaa is suitable for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data that identifies a child.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. Continued use of Namaa after a change means you accept the updated policy.
